Gogonihon advertises itself as a "free service to help foreign students find the ideal school in Japan". First warning flag is: There is nothing for free, if it is for free, then the merchandise is you. Check what people think about the schools being advertised in for example google maps, you will soon realize which most have pretty bad ratings. However, the Hiroshima school I went to and was somewhat good, is not listed there, I found them instead by a japanese school database called "nisshinkyo" and asking all of them which did not a lot of negative ratings (leaving me with few options). That may mean which the schools which do not show, it may be because they are not paying for the advertisement. You may also think which since they will put a staff from your country to talk with you, which the staff will be more sympathetic to you. Think again. They are in a strict japanese company, if they are there it is because they comply with whatever the company says them to do, and even if they wanted to do different, they cannot, so I ended up in a situation where a guy from Brazil was actually not being honest about what the chosen school was talking about my desire to enroll.

All my attempts done with gogonihon failed (in 2022), and funny enough, the attempts I did myself contacting the schools were usually more successful. If the school cannot understand English, then it probably will not be a good school for you as a beginner in Japan anyway. You can also see if they are respectful to you or not by contacting directly, and how helpful they are. In truth, Japan education system, at least concerning regular education (elementary, middle and junior) for japanese and the japanese language schools, is pretty low quality. Even gogonihon admitted that when I mentioned this, but gogonihon also shifted the attention to the "refusal of the students to adapt to the Japanese society" or something like that. Also, let us not forget which my first japanese school was not good because I chose it from the gogonihon listing.

I no longer remember well, but a friend said which gogonihon recommended "interwhao" for finding student housing, a company which with I had not good experiences as well (I will tell more in other post).
